Don't Make Me Count to 3

Moms of America - this book is for you! Do you find yourself threatening, repeating your instructions or raising your voice in an attempt to get your children to obey? Are you discouraged because it seems you can't just reach the heart of your child?

There are three main things that God tells me to teach younger women:
1. how to love (be fond of, adore and serve) their husbands,
2. how to take care of their homes (prepare nutritious meals, keep order, create sanctuary), and
3. train their children.

Older women are supposed to teach the younger women how to love (adore and serve) their husbands, take care of their homes (prepare nutritious meals, keep order in the simple home as well as establish the simple home principles, create sanctuary in the home and the master bedroom.

Older women are also supposed to teach moms how to train their children. And, since, I suppose I fall into the category of an older woman and I can't teach all of you . . . I want to recommend my very favorite child training book (which by the way moms are to train their children and serve their husbands - NOT train their husbands and serve their children).

Through personal experience and the practical application of the Bible, Ginger Plowman not only encourages but equips moms to reach past the outward behavior but to dive into the issues of the child's heart.

Using What You Have to Create Beauty

I'm a collector of sorts.

My garden has an assortment of pots - collected. I'd been struggling with this sense that my pot collection needed a fresh creative touch.

And, along comes one creative daughter to my rescue.

It's always helpful when another pair of eyes sees things fresh
and recreates beauty using what you have.

"Let's see how this looks now."
"Hmmm.....let me take a look."

"Now, let's see how this looks."

Done! And, I didn't spend a dime to get a new look.
Thanks dear daughter.

I am my mother's daughter and my daughters are their mothers daughters. Love shoes.

Scored: My darling mother just brought out a pair of these Jessica Simpson heels she wore twice and now I am the proud owner of. How about that?

A Texas Size Visit

I've been planning this trip for the past three weeks, ever since my brother Rick ended up in ICU in a Wichita Falls Hospital. Several from his world tried to kill him. The complete reasons are yet to be told. His head was bashed in and somehow he made his way to a day care center where ambulance rushed him to the hospital. Emergency surgery was performed to remove a blot clot among other things.

His life was definitely in the balance for a week and I believe it's the prayers of all who new, that caused my God, in His mercy, to spare this man's life. For that, I thank you.

My flight from Phoenix to Dallas to Wichita Falls was nothing less than delightful. I thank all my FB & Twitter friends for welcoming me to this fine state.

My youngest brother picked me up from the WF airport. I haven't seen him for at least six years. A little surprise included his fourteen year old son, Payton. My how these kids grow up. He's taller than me.

My second surprise was waiting for me at my parents home. Brother Rick.
My prayer is that he'll get what God wants him to get from this second opportunity to make something of his life and give back from what he's been given.
