The World of Men – Understanding the Man You’re Married To
The world of men is an interesting one, and of course, I'm sure men would say the same about a woman's world.
So, how is it that two very interesting worlds can become one and keep romance alive?
Here's my simple my simple (yet, of course, not so simple) ABC's of Understanding the Man You’re Married that I've learned and practice.
Hint: Stop trying to make your husband like you. It won't work. But what will work and make your marriage sweeter is to get understanding about the man you're married to.
Assess - Assess where he’s at – get understanding – consider his maturity level–look at the behavior and work through it with God first
Accept who he is – he’s an adult man who responds to life’s issues - sometimes with an adolescent mindset. A hint: a woman must must receive HER OWN acceptance from God first in order to give it to our husband.
Believe the best - believe that he won't always be stuck in those areas that really bug you.
Come Along Side AND practice: cccccc - Constantly care – constantly, creatively communicate: learn his language – listen to his tone, listen to the words he uses and use them.
Hint: Most men don’t like lots of words – they need the bottom line – but they need to hear it with respect.
Deposit into his love cup – what do you deposit? Adoration (respect), affectionate toward, affirming = approval. Men want their women to show them approval.
Embrace – Embrace him in spite of all this inconsistencies…you embrace HIM not HIS behavior… SEE who he really is - don't lock him into his behavior - see the core of who he is - not the crude.
I think this is going to help someone today!

what's new? the lylah marketplace
Besides a new garden, grandkids from Spain here on the homefront, I've opened up The Lylah Blog Marketplace.
It's the place to check daily for special gift ideas, steals, deals and other fun finds for The Simple Home.
I'm on the lookout for pretties for the kitchen, garden, sanctuary bedroom - anything to add that special touch.
I'll also be posting some fabulously, fun fashion finds - some great deals, others - more fun to look at.
And, if YOU find something that YOU think is a MUST for the Lylah Blog Marketplace - do, let me know!

where's lylah been?
it's amazing how days just slip by so quickly - on into the other and before you know it - you haven't touched based. that's life, ya think? so, what have i been busy doing?
last week, i'd been on "nana duty" with my griffin grandkiddos - while jenni and gerald spent the week at conferences in the the north west.
on tuesday - poppie and candace took all but jillian to the zoo. see great pics here. jillian and i served tea to my friend, bonnie (who was visiting from portland). it was fun to teach jillian the importance of serving another woman so that when she leaves she'll feel so very hugged by God.
wednesday - i'm not sure exactly what happened wednesday day, but sweet daughter candace took my three charges to her house. what fun they had with diving practice.
thursday - i spent the morning with some girlfriends. sweet time. thursday night (all kiddos spent night at candaces) michael and i just spent time staring at each other.
friday morning we took jillian to breakfast and then in the early evening we all went to the community center and watched ivana ballerina's final ballet recital - all 20 seconds (maybe) of it. what a hoot.
saturday - just a hang out day.
sunday - michael and i along with three grandkiddos were invited to the norouz picnic where i got to make new friends with rosie and zohre and her daughter samira. i so love persian food. i have to say that american - western women might do well to learn from iranian (middle-eastern) women on how to "do hospitality." i've never been so served. i look forward to tea with rosie and zohre.
