Hi there Vista Gal...I actually dipped each cock in hot boiling water as that helps with plucking.
One time I'd ordered a straight run of chicks and God as my witness - I ended up with 98 cocks and two hens. For REALS. I learned, from the farmer lady across the street, how to ring those necks. After that horrific experience, I would NEVER order a straight run. :-)
