How To Dye Easter Eggs - Naturally

I found these super cool ideas over at Martha's place. Did you ever think of naturally dyeing Easter eggs with what's in your kitchen? All you need are your natural dyeing agents (red cabbage, turmeric, onion skins, beets, and coffee), a 3-quart pot (or larger), white vinegar, a strainer, some small bowls, your eggs, a large metal spoon, paper towels and a drying rack

Martha gives this recipe and cool color list:

Deep Gold: Boil eggs in turmeric solution, 30 minutes.
Sienna: Boil eggs in onion-skin solution, 30 minutes.
Dark, Rich Brown: Boil eggs in black coffee, 30 minutes.
Pale Yellow: Soak eggs in room-temperature turmeric solution, 30 minutes.
Orange: Soak eggs in room-temperature onion-skin solution, 30 minutes.
Light Brown: Soak eggs in room-temperature black coffee, 30 minutes.
Light Pink: Soak eggs in room-temperature beet solution, 30 minutes.
Light Blue: Soak eggs in room-temperature cabbage solution, 30 minutes.
Royal Blue: Soak eggs in room-temperature cabbage solution overnight.
Lavender: Soak eggs in room-temperature beet solution, 30 minutes. Follow with room-temperature cabbage solution, 30 seconds.
Chartreuse: Soak eggs in room-temperature turmeric solution, 30 minutes. Follow with room-temperature cabbage solution, 5 seconds.
Salmon: Soak eggs in room-temperature turmeric solution, 30 minutes. Follow with room-temperature onion-skin solution, 30 minutes.

Garden News & Cupcake Cuteness

Just look at that man. The one on the left. Gosh, I love him. And, the great guy on the right is our favorite older son-in-law. Oh, yes. . .

I'm still here - just gardening, spending some shoulder to shoulder time with my husband, wiping his brow and serving him lemonade. I'll show more pictures soon.

Don't you just want to sit down under a sweet smelling shade tree and sip some lemonade? This great idea and this lemonade treat creates the sweetest southern wedding.

In the meantime, I'm still thinking about cupcakes and I love Notes from a Cottage Industry display of her fabulous looking cupcakes.

These yum cupcakes are compliments of Design Mom and Sk*rt, which btw - has some exciting news. Sk*rt is - well - sk*rty.
