It's wonderful that you've been able to come to a loving relationship with your mother-in-law. I was never that lucky. I never really felt accepted into the family by her even after 15 years and two grandchildren. I only told her "I love you" once - it just happened to be as I was leaving the last time that I saw her or spoke to her before her death two years ago. I hope that I will be able to have a good relationship with my children's spouses.
Hi Pam...thanks for sharing your heart and experience. It takes a TON of work - which I have had to do and she too - to get to this place. It was within the past few years that love broke through.
On the flip side, your situation is soooooooo common. And, I'm so sorry your mil missed out on the wonderful woman that YOU are and the GOOD thing you are to her son.
Blessings on you!
Thanks for the link!
I struggle with in-laws, that's for sure, but I think it helps to remember that these people helped to make my wonderful husband who he is, and then to work from there to discover their unique gifts.
Really nice blog. Sincerely, @nne
