I've been showing off some pics of traditional Basque Salad. I can say that in just about everyone I've eaten, they've had the same ingredients. Start off with lettuce - mostly an ice berg lettuce - but fresh salad greens shredded into small pieces. Slice white onion very, very thin. Add corn, kalamata olives, or green olives, tuna (in pieces), and asparagus. Add sliced tomatoes and if you like add slices of hard boiled eggs and little pickled cucumbers. The dressing is going to be olive oil and a balsamic drizzled over the salad. Add salt. Simple. Yummy. Some salad dressings use mayonnaise with a mixture of oil, vinegar and garlic. We've done the simple version
