Sustainable Food Lecture - Part 1

This guy - is one of the main reasons why we're motivated to do what we do here at our "farm" in Scottsdale.

Gardening has changed our lives, our marriage, our family and our future. Gardening has brought out joy, creativity and all the hard work has been more than worth it.

My husband says, "Gardening has caused me to slow down and enjoy life. I have a deep appreciation for what God built into nature. It makes me feel a little more connected to God and to the world."

Every morning I head out the back door and take great delight in seeing how things are growing. Often, Michael and I will walk down the little pathway, with a coffee cup in hand, just to admire, appreciate and give thanks to the One who's enabled all this to happen.

I LOVE that you are doing this series, Lylah!

This is right on target with how I feel about our food.

I just hope we can catch up in time in our own backyard. It takes a little more to sustain a family of 8. But I have to remember that, ultimately, God is our provider - for everything that reaches our table as well. He can make the seedlings sprout, He can make the rain fall, He can give us wisdom to keep the bugs from eating it all. :D

I love these people also-they are a true inspiration. I check their blog regularly to see what they are up to. The weather here in the Valley of the Sun has been so gorgeous recently hasn't it? I, too, head out to the garden every morning to see what my "babies" are up to.
