Oprah to Palin: I Can Pencil You In Later
Oprah has issued a statement to TMZ -- she won't put Sarah Palin on her show until after the election.
Here's the statement: "The item in today's Drudge Report is categorically untrue. There has been absolutely no discussion about having Sarah Palin on my show. At the beginning of this Presidential campaign when I decided that I was going to take my first public stance in support of a candidate, I made the decision not to use my show as a platform for any of the candidates. I agree that Sarah Palin would be a fantastic interview, and I would love to have her on after the campaign is over."
It is HER show and SHE can do what SHE wants, but what does it communicate by Oprah not inviting the first Republican VP candidate on her show? Does it seem a bit ironic – that the party that wants to wear the women's banner of women’s rights be the one to condemn her?
Do you think it could create an "Oprah Boycott" or even ignite a more dramatic backlash among women? According to the Drudge Report - Oprah's website is getting tons of requests to put her on, but Oprah and a couple of her top people are adamantly against it because of Obama."
Sound off: What do you think? Please - no attacking.

Ironic yes, but surprising no.
I agree, it isn't surprising. Oprah isn't the woman I used to love long ago. What a disappointment from her yet again.
i stopped watching her years ago. she's gotten way, i mean way off track. and the very sad thing is - is that so many women don't see that they're being deceived by her foolish ways.
thanks for stopping by....love your blog and tribute to your nana.
I no longer watch Oprah any longer, either. I am not surprised that she won't have Palin on her show, why would she when Palin can so obviously can deliver what she promises (unlike other unmentioned candidates...) and could probably run circles around Oprah. :)
Yup, I agree with the first comment, "Ironic but not surprising"!
Love you, Lylah!
thanks woman for stopping by....LOVE the comment and LOVE YOU!
Hey girl. No longer watch "O" other than on very rare occasions. Yep, not surprising she wouldn't want to risk having her on the show before the election. Sarah is an amazing and articulate woman and that would be quite an interview! Too bad Oprah is putting personal politics and her own platform above what used to be just an enjoyable talk show.
xo
hey woman...great comment! sarah is the bomb.
Lylah,
It's unfortunate that politics tends to bring out the ugly and divisive side of people. There is a lesson for all of us to learn. As a journalist, I can tell you for EXPERIENCE that people will slant things to make them work in their best interest. It's sad but so true. I say get the facts---don't react on heresay.
Beverly....you are RIGHT on. you Rock! Thanks woman for stopping by!
